The Challenge
Operating through three specialist divisions—heritage, specialist works, and restoration—the company manages complex construction projects that require strict workforce training and certification standards.
However, managing employee training and compliance had become increasingly difficult.
The company relied on a large Excel spreadsheet to track certifications, refresher training, and workforce compliance. As the organisation grew, maintaining the system required significant administrative effort.
Tracking expiry dates was complex, matching training records with the workforce training matrix was time-consuming, and overall visibility of workforce compliance was limited.
Other challenges included managing paper-based toolbox talk records and tracking CITB grant claims and payments linked to training activity.
